What a great post! I've been thinking a lot about the idea of challenging myself to finally try for some things I've always been afraid to want to reach for -- for me, I'm calling it "Living a Big Story."

My goodness; I can relate. I moved from Texas to Washington state with my husband ten years ago and felt many of your same emotions. I felt so much uncertainty back then but now, we have wonderful careers and amazing freinds. I have a special place for Texas but I also call this home.

I love this post. It is so perfect. My sister and I have talked lots and lots about risk lately. Some of the biggest risks have the biggest payouts. Marrying so young, moving to Texas on a whim, have 3 kids so close together, etc. Wouldn't trade a thing. I'm so happy for you guys. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Five and a half years ago, Superman and I did the same thing. People thought we were nuts, but our spirits were so calm...we were following the path we were meant to follow. The move from So Cal to Western Washington was a wonderful one...we are where we're meant to be (for now!). The calm that comes from following that path is amazing. I hope your move continues to be a good one...

LOVE your blog. I'm new to it today! Your baby is gorgeous. I found you by looking up images of Paris and saw your Paris Poodle Party stuff but now can't find them. So sad. I just did a Paris bathroom for four little girls who are now deliriously happy and want to spend the night in there its so pretty. We had to put our foot down and say, "non." I had hoped to buy your packet for the 2nd girl, who is Paris obsessed and about to turn 10 on Mar 1.
God bless you on your awesome trek. Being outbound is so thrilling. I love how the Spirit moves us. But just wait til you're 42. YOu'll be glad you were adventurous now.

What a beautifully honest and inspired post! It really spoke to me in so many ways! I agree 100% with you that God has a WONDERFUL plan for each of us and that the Spirit leads us in His perfect path for us! My husband and I are looking into a similar "exodus"...but actually ours would be out of the West and moving more inland, so I totally understand that moment of "is this the right step?"...as we still in that phase. I pray for a great transition for your beautiful family and hope that you enjoy this path that He has set out for each of you...as I am sure it is going to be nothing short of spectacular!

Well said. This articulates how I’ve been feeling as of late. I turned 30 a few weeks ago, and look at the risks I haven’t had the courage to take. Like you said, I don’t want to wake up 30 more years from now wishing things were different.
